I don't believe in karma. "Good things come to those who wait," is a tired expression used to comfort people who miss out on everything. Call me crazy, but the part about going to all the trouble of getting your friends to register for a class only to get blocked out yourself is heartbreaking :( Like you know it isn't the end of the world, but still, damn that is a really shitty thing to happen, and it's just the icing on the cake after everything else you're going through. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time, and I really hope things start to get much better for you.

Would it help if I said you were a good writer, or would it just further your annoyance. Well, I saying it anyway, because it's true. And that's a skill. Skills are good; we can use them for things. Sometimes when we least expect to. Life makes odd turns. And of course, I am an optimist - it's the only way I know how to live - but in my experience everything you do in life, no matter how much of a waste it seems at the time, will be useful to you at some point.

Like that horribly theoretical LIT2000 class I had to take - I used theatre form/content theory to better understand a reality show where this group of people way out in the country were making a cabaret. :p
