seriously. loved it...and they FINALLY lived up to the potential of the season. it had been lacking a bit, though good in parts, but this ending was awesome. jack redeemed himself big time.
ashley hated the flash forward too. i didn't mind it. or rather...let me clarify, i didn't mind the flash forward, as long as it's not the end of the timeline. jack can't end that way, and of course i want to see jack end up with kate, but it's not the end of the story, nor do i believe they'll leave it that way. they're be another flash forward.
so if you think of it that way, it's fucking awesome.
you can vent to me. i loved it, but the flash forward fucked my head (as they palnned, i know). amazingly written though. they spent the whole last week's episode preparing you for charlie's death, and then the way it happens in the end. amazing.
Gah, that part made me cry. Poor Charlie! Though, given the way things have been going, maybe we'll be seeing him again.
I think what pissed me off the most is that they never told us who was in the coffin - and also the fact that Jack's dad is now alive? Or is he just strung out on pain meds?
we'll see him again in flashbacks, i'm positive, or jacaob will take charlie's shape to communicate with someone (which btw...kind of lost its grip, since walt is all grown up last night....wouldn't walt take shape of how locke rememered him?), but i think charlie's definitely gone, or they wouldn't have strung his death out in the last 10-12 episodes. the smile on charlie's face when he died....that seriously fucked me. if that doesn't get them an emmy, i don't know what will.
yeah...though when jack said "neither" to the question of "family or friend" i guess it narrows it down. they said it was a woman, right? i thought it could be julia, but i'm guessing she'll be killed in the final season. there needs to be a sacrifice before they're finally off the island.
that is the only show that i watch on tv, besides wonder years of course. anyway, it always sucks when the season finale comes around because of the wait for the next one. I thought this episode was worth it, but i was confused about the very last scene. i just hope they connect some of the open ends and finish what they started before they go on to bigger things. thats just me though/
i think they will in a way and won't in a way...they'll do exactly what they always have done...give you enough to make certain connections to build things off of, give dramatic build while answering former questions, but take the drama further raising more questions. and honestly, that's all the elements of a good drama, but they've taken it to a new level. i mean....they left questions in the first season that they're just now getting around to answer (like the chord on the beach...we finally know where it goes).
