I've been updating a ton lately, but all in amohyour, and those communities.

ay em oh you are
A M o u R
A.M. oh you are

in case you were wondering.

On Friday, Allysa pulled me to the side at work and asked me if I had an experience in Excel. I said I've played with it. "Good." And then she told me that she put in her two weeks notice and because I have the most open schedule and I'm already in the system, and I seem competant, capable, coherent and highly motivated, they were offering her position of Office Manager to me. "My goodness," I thought to myself. Monday I began training. They said they'd pay me a buck an hour more. "Eh." But I thought, with this position, I'll really know everything about everything at Mother Earth (it's in the job description) -- the hierarchy, pay scale, trade secrets, blahblahblah, and thus the IWW now has a foot-in at one of the NRG locations. If Starbucks can be unionized, NRG doesn't stand a chance.

Then a fellow worker took an interest in me getting this office management position. "Moving up fast, aren't we?" "Oh, I suppose." "Not exactly what you signed up for?" "It's an adventure..." I wasn't really sure where I stood with him, but he's cool. He really is. I can speak freely, and I know that now. Basically today we talked for a long time about unions and how I was going to be seriously shafted if I take this job without asking for more money. It's about ten times the work of being a cashier, and it's really two jobs combined into one (I'm not supposed to know this.) and the store manager was offering me the lower of the two individual starting pays. They need me. I'm now incredibly important, and if they don't have someone there to work as office manager, the entire store gets thrown into chaos. I think asking to make two or two and a quarter above what I'm making now is the least they can spare. But even if they don't... I don't know if I could pass up this job because of all of the opportunity it provides. Congratulations to me for the promotion, if I choose to accept it.

Tomorrow I sign a 7 month lease with dear Katy Phillips =) Wait 'till you kids see it. It has the best yard ever. With a privacy fence. Naked yoga in the sun, here I come. Ooooh yeeaahhh. :D

IF YOU HADN'T HEARD, HARRY AND THE POTTERS IS PLAYING JANUARY TENTH AT CG. BE THERE OR BIG A SQUIB LOSER.
That's right. I said it. Eat me.

I don't really like hanging out with drop-outs. Lazy, unmotivated, confused, no goals, no action. What's the deal, kids? What are you doing with your lives? It's no wonder almost everyone I talk to treats me like some irresponsible child when I mention that no, i'm not in school right now. no, i'm not going back next semester. and no, i'm don't intend to just SIT AROUND. Do things, people. Do things and be bold.
