Cloudwatchers on CafePress: Top Ten FAQs
1. Who is responsible for all this awesome VM swag?
Everything in the store was created by a fan of Veronica Mars who wants to help raise the show's visibility and ratings. Many people contributed ideas, feedback, and graphics to the effort, so really, there are a ton of people who deserve "thanks" for what you see in our little space on CafePress, but credit really goes to the amazing artists. Cloud Watchers is currently featuring original designs by

2. Who chooses what design goes on what product?
The store is managed by
pan_tastic and
spadada. It was originally created to sell Hearst shirts to those involved with the "Look to the Skies" campaign to save Veronica Mars (which started on Television Without Pity). Since then many fans have contributed designs and the store has grown into a revenue source for the DVD campaign.
3. What is the DVD campaign?
The DVD campaign is the main focus of
cloud_watchers right now. The idea is to hook new viewers by exposing them to the show. A free and legal way to make old episodes available to more people is to donate VM DVDs to public libraries. Thanks to earlier group efforts, managed by the incredible
socialscientist, fans have already donated more than 250 Season 1 DVDs to libraries in 42/50 states and 30/Top 30 Nielsen markets (64/Top 100).

4. So when I buy a shirt (or anything else) from your store on CafePress, how much money goes into the DVD fund and how much do you guys make?
2 truths and a lie:
- We make nothing personally from the site.
- Fans of the show have created each and every design you see in the Cloud Watchers store on CafePress.
- We sit on our asses all day drinking martinis because we are independently wealthy and have tons of time and money to donate to the cause.
No really, $2.00 from the price of every item we sell goes to the DVD campaign, the rest goes into the pockets of CafePress. That might not sound like very much, but in one month we’ve raised close to $1500! That means that just by shopping here, fans will donate approximately 50 DVD sets to libraries across the country.
5. Awesome! I’m rich and I want to give you lots of money, but don’t want to buy any of your crappy swag, can I just donate to the effort?

6. I’m a really great designer, can I design something for the store?
Absolutely! But we don’t guarantee that we’ll actually accept it.
We ask everyone to post their designs publically first so we can see what kind of reactions they get from other fans. If enough people respond to your design, we’ll gladly put it on T-shirts, bumper stickers, and wall clocks. If the design, however, does not fit the parameters of what we’re trying to accomplish, or if the general response is meh or negative, then no, we won’t add it.

7. Okay, I’d really like to see a picture of Kristen Bell giving finger guns.
Unfortunately due to copyright/trademark issues we can’t accept ideas or designs that have pictures of actors or the words “Veronica Mars.” Or for that matter, any full character names. So you'll have to be more creative than that ;)
8. I put a design in and you guys accepted it, but I haven’t seen it on the site. Why not?
It may be due to copyright issues, or it might be because you or someone else has the same image in their private stores. If you submit a design to us, please do not also add it to your personal store on CafePress. And absolutely without exception DO NOT use someone else's design to create your own products.
Or we might just be busy. Remember, the endless time and money thing was the lie. But if you are worried we forgot, just leave us a comment.
