Funding of a VM movie & why we don't support it

Greetings.

The mods of cloud_watchers felt like we should clarify our feelings about a new idea that seems to be picking up steam elsewhere in the internet VM community. Some diehard fans, who we're sure are sincere, would love to raise some money to help Rob Thomas create a movie version of VM. Figures like, 15 or so million dollars have been mentioned over

Just as a side note to the above post.

I own the domain veronicamarsmovie.com and I do not in any way support the idea that fans should fund a movie. The idea behind the movie, was more to show our support of more Veronica Mars. I am not taking donations, nor am I asking for money on the site. In fact the only place I've indicated that people should donate is to Invisible Children. I have links to both their main site and their Myspace account in hopes that people would want to donate to such a worthy cause. I think the idea is more about having a venue where fans can share ideas, mail off letters, postcards etc. I am open to feedback and I am not trying to scam anyone. I have been an active participant in several other campaigns with VMars and I don't doubt that Cloud Watchers is just looking out for the VM community. I welcome your comments on the site and if you feel there are additions or deletions that should be made to the content, please feel free to email me at kilverstone@yahoo.com.

I didn't realize people where talking about paying for it themselves.

But that is a way people drum up money for smaller independent films.
