EUROVISION ANYONE?

Okay, so yesterday was our Mother's day concert. A lot happened.

Okay, so I told you guys that it was Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. Only they cut up the music, so it gets an happy ending. "Okay, that makes sense, it's for kids and their mothers." I figured. Only it's suddenly not about Romeo and Juliet! Suddenly it's "Lizzy is Moving". It's about a girl who moves to a new house and falls in love with some ghost boy named Julian and in the end he flies away and leaves her his huge mansion. Or something, I don't know. And though that's incredibly cheesy, I could've lived with it. Only, the narrator had to yap through the entire suite. Annoying! And it was kind of weird to hear the person stammering about how Lizzy had to clean the house through the Death of Juliet scene. Ah well. All in all I had a good time. The weather was lovely and we had a really long break so we could relax in the park next to the river. Rotterdam has some nice spots, that's for sure.
And I got to wear a dress and killer heels (Literally. Oww, my feet.). I don't do that often, but it's great doing it every now and then.
Oh, and if anyone's interested, I have a file with the music (MediaFire, 75 MB) we played (okay, it's not actually us but a professional orchestra) so you can listen to Prokofiev's wonderful muziek. I especially like the dramatic parts, like Tybalt's Death, The Knights (YouTube link) and Romeo at Juliet's Tomb, but the other parts are very pretty too.

Oh right, and an art rec. I've been watching this artist for a while now (and she doesn't upload anymore), on Deviant Art, but it's worth showing. SO AMAZING. And just look at the details (more detail links can be found in the entry). Unf

ALSO. I discovered a hilarious community, anthropomor_fic. Basically? Fic about the anthropomorphic personifications of well, everything. Seriously, this stuff is crazy. My favourite ones were Australia/Antarctica, Radio/Video (It's porn. About media formats. LOL!) and last and best, Sodium/Chloride Slash. I need to quote, because it tickles the chem geek in me.

One day, Chlorine spotted Sodium. Chlorine couldn't ignore Sodium's lustrous, silvery white sheen and seemingly ductile structure- the attraction was pulling them together. He floated over to the other atom and whispered, "I know we're from the opposite sides of the periodic table, but make an ionic bond with me, and we'll both be happy atoms."

But there's so much more, like Potato/Peeler, Science/Religion and Mouse/Mousepad.
It was the inspiration for a Viola/Violin fic, but it's not finished yet. I can disclose that it's femmeslash, though. XD

Okay, and also. This needs to be in Caps Lock. IS ANYONE WATCHING EUROVISION? Anybody? Plz? It's campy Euro fun? Is someone willing to LOL with me about this?
Here's the Dutch Entry. As you can imagine, we aren't going to win this. XD

lol, eurovision, orchestra, rec
