I feel much better now.

I honestly thought it was April Fools Day when I saw that Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. I mean, I like him just fine but... what? That was unexpected. Still, congradulations! I think it's time to check out the frothing this will cause.

WTF. Giving it to Obama is pretty damn silly, but that's just beyond ridicuolous.

I just feel like something has sped by me and all I can do is gawk and pull an idiotic face. Huh?!

Haha, indeed.

(Obama did a lot with reaching out to other people but you just know that half the reason he got picked is that he isn't Bush. XD)

(Yeah. I do think the contribution he's made so far is positive. Still, this feels like they're lauding his intentions rather than his actions - we ain't seen nothing concrete yet!)

I'm contemplating whether or not to submit a Westerostamping app. The issue is that I kind of know who I want to be so I'm just looking for confirmations, ahaa. /ditzy Targ mode.

Submitting an app would still be fun, if only to see what other people see in you. :D

Me too! I mean, obviously, I hope his tenure is all successful and shiny, because I have to live in it, but, uh, what exactly has he accomplished so far that's Peace Prize worthy? Sarkozy would've been more lollarius though! XP

Yay, telomerase! The local newspapers were celebrating with pront-page articles (that was obviously before the Obama thing was announced) because she is here in UCSF.

Hope orchestra weekend proves enjoyable in spite of your expectations, and good luck on the interviews!

Yeah, I read an article about Blackburn and her research and it mentioned she went to Berkeley! I noticed it because I remembered you went to Berkeley. :D

Orchestra weekend turned out to be enjoyable (despite numerous mosquito bites) though I really didn't expect dressing as an actual carrot for party night. >.>

Indeed.

Not to mention conversatives are going to tear the situation a new asshole. That'll be fun to watch in an exhausting, sad kind of way.

"One journalist asked if it was odd to give the peace prize to a politician who has increase dtroop deployment in Afghanistan, but the chair didn't want to be drawn into current political debates."

They completely forgot the things he's said about Pakistan. Jesus.

XDDDD. Okay, that totally cracked me up.

Yeah, Obama might not be Bush but his stance on Afghanistan and Pakistan aren't exactly Peace Price-worthy.
