Finally, an entry actually involving clouds

I had a window seat on the flight from Boston to Denver.  Halfway through the flight, I was looking out the window and saw a 737 fly past in the opposite direction.  The plane wasn't leaving any contrails, but since it was so close and slightly below me, I could see the engine exhaust against the clouds below, a dirty brown against a perfect white ( Read more... )

Man, I love airplane moments. Yay for window seats.

Seriously, who would prefer an aisle seat? Unless you enjoy watching a flight attendant distribute drinks, the window seat is where the action is. For me, 90% of the appeal of air travel (other than going to sleep in a different place than where you woke up) is watching thousands of miles slide by the window. Seriously, it's almost meditative.

Then again, I may just be the son of a pilot. So there you go.

I am not the child of a pilot, and I agree with you 100%, so there.

I have heard about this, but am unsure what to think. On the plus side, the quality of Billy Corgan's music has been steadily declining since the Pumpkins disbanded. There were less people around him to say, "Hey, maybe you should put spaces in your album title," or "Hey, rainbows are now a symbol for the homosexual community and might be a weird symbol for your band," or even "Hey, the guitar effect sounds like crap, maybe you shouldn't use it on every single song on your solo record." So maybe reuniting with people who can tell him "no" will result in BC no longer sucking ( ... )

I'll probably buy it and may even enjoy it, but it's never going to be the same.

Yep, that happens to us all as we get older. Which is why nobody under 30 should be allowed to tattoo music group logos on themselves. If your tastes don't change as you mature, you end up like the pathetic dudes with receding mullets who sport "Def Leppard" or "Twisted Sister" tats and drag their grandchildren to "Journey" reunion concerts. Just sad.

A driving moment amyrose8 June 15 2006, 02:11:59 UTC
I highly recommend listening to "Selfless, Cold, and Composed" by Ben Folds Five while driving on the Verrazano Bridge (or any pretty bridge) at night. I pretty much melted.
