Imagine Asians... in Hong Kong

Jun 29, 2007 10:49

My dad and I went to Hong Kong for two days.  It was one of his last flights as a United pilot.  He did the driving, I mostly slept.

Hong Kong is an astounding place.  I was really lucky to get a chance to go, and hopefully I'll make it back there someday.

The pictures tell the story:

I just looked through all your pictures. Even I didn't want the trip to end, and I wasn't there.

I know, right? We didn't have much time, but we made the most of it.

You're welcome! It was a lot easier to post all these rather than type it all out...

A thousand congratulations to your dad; when is his actual last flight? Also, looks like you managed to get a pretty nice seat for the flight over -- hope you were so lucky on the return leg!

His actual last flight will probably be to Frankfurt next week (although there was some talk of doing a quick London trip and taking my mom to Wimbledon - such is the life of the pilot).

On the flight back I was in business class as well, but it was a bulkhead seat on the main level. On the plus side, I had one of those strange-but-interesting seatmates who talked a great length with little prompting from me. One of those conversations where more audience than participant, you know?

I was fortunate enough to fly business LHR-ORD in November, and boy was that nice. I didn't speak a word to the person next to me and he didn't speak to me, either -- it was lovely. :)
