If you're doing an awesome job and your boss doesn't know you exist, it is awfully hard to get rewarded. My Dad told me that the best thing to do is find out where they make coffee and hang out there half the time.

So, I'm guessing some real life event spurred this?

my mom tried to signed me up for golf lessons because "i'm working in a man's field." instead i just went to the driving range and tried to learn.
