Favorite Past Times

It had been a while since Shikamaru had enjoyed an afternoon this nice. Shikamaru blinks, looking over at Anko and nodding. "Yeah, I know. He gave this one to me. Mine was too beat up to use anymore, so." He shrugs, putting out his cigarette by grinding it into the dirt under the tree he was by.

Shikamaru shrugs with a sigh. "Asuma's good, that's for sure. He hasn't beaten me yet though. Once I learned the rules, the game just... kind of came naturally. The only person I've never beat... is my dad, actually." He looks up at the clouds again, smiling slightly.

Shikamaru shrugs. "Enjoying a day off, trying to hide from my shrew of a mother. You?" He watches Kimi, having nothing else to do at the moment except to keep dragging on his ciggie.

Shikamaru shrugs, taking another drag as he watches the clouds. "It's the mental challenge of it, the rush of your strategies being turned against your opponents and seeing it win, or the despair as you fail. The constant flow of give and take."

Shikamaru twitches, raising an eyebrow at her as he nods slowly. "Alright... I suppose I can do that...." As he slowly sets up the board, he explains the names of the pieces, and how each of them moves.
