Well, in retrospect it was actually kinda funny... and I'll be sure to check at least twice whether I've got money on my before entering any store in the future! ;-)

Oh, this definitely happens a lot more than you know, and I'd be very surprised and upset if any store had an issue with you going back to get your money so you can come back and pay. After all... they want to make sure they make that sell. ;)

Honestly, given that they guy I asked was working carrying goods in and out of the storeroom, he was probably was more concerned about not having to put all the stuff from my cart back on the shelves, but it worked out the same for me in the end ;-)
