“Teukie hyung! What are you doing up there? Come down!!” the wind tousled Leeteuk’s hair gently as he turned around.
“Hello, Kangin shii!!~ What are you doing here?”
“What kind of reply is that!?!? Come down now!” Kangin gazed desperately at hyung.
…
“Kangin- ah… do you love me?”
Silence.
“Of course I do! Can you come down now?”
Leeteuk smiled sadly.
“You’re lying.”
“Wha…what? What nonsense are you sprouting?”
“You don’t need to hide anymore, Youngwoon -ah, I can see it clearly, even from up here. I can see the way you hesitate when you say ‘I love you’. The way you pause before you kiss me.” Leeteuk saw shock cross Kangin’s eyes.
“I see it all.”
“I… hyung… Aish! Just get down will you?”
…
“No.”
“Hyung! Give me another chance! Please? Get down here and give me another chance!”
“No.”
“Hyung--”
“No, Youngwoon, it’s too late.”
He was smiling as he stood up. Staring at the city below, he continued in a gentle voice so soft that Kangin could barely hear.
“You know I love you, Youngwoon-ah. But” Leeteuk looked back at Kangin. “its obviously not enough for you, is it?”
Kangin felt as though his feet were rooted to the ground. He tried to speak but his tongue was glued to the bottom of his mouth.
“ goodbye Youngwoon.” Leeteuk gave one last dimpled smile. “I’ll see you on the other side.”
Helpless, Kangin could only watch as Leeteuk fell, disappearing over the edge forever.
