England

It's taken my nearly 2 hours to type up this entry and upload the pictures, but it's done. *Whew* So, I've put it under a LJ cut for those who don't want to read about it or whatever.

June 19
Met up with Evan and Robert at the airport. I was very antsy on the plane, but I got over it eventually when we were in the air. Nearly nine hours of sitting did bad things to my bum.

June 20
We arrived at Gatwick Airport around 7 in the morning and met up with Hannah, after big hugs were had. We had the whole day to go about here and there, but not until we rested at the hotel. Cobham's a nice, little town. Really cute. CULTURE SHOCK, but cute. I've had many a fright when I thought we would crash into cars that were coming at us from the right side of the street. Heh.

Hannah showed us Camden and Oxford Street. I didn't buy much at Oxford, despite seeing so many cute things. The highest the sizes went was to a US size 12. :(

At the end of the day, we walked back to the hotel from Cobham station. I don't remember who suggested that idea, but they need to a swift kick in the pants. It ended up being a longer journey than we all thought. Consequently, I hurt my foot and it made future trips very painful.

June 21
This day was reserved for Bath. It was really nice. It was a little windy, but, god, did it beat Houston weather. We saw Bath Abbey and the famous Roman baths. I've taken lots of pictures of Bath. I do think I would've enjoyed it more if the foot thing didn't bother me. I felt really horrible slowing everybody down. I don't think they minded, but I still felt bad about it. Everything seemed to be better after we went to a pub and I had my first (gasp) full glass of wine. MILESTONE, you guyz.

June 22
Hannah said she had to go to school to finish some business, so she suggested that Evan and I go into London alone and meet up with Nathan and Adrian. We did just that. Evan successfully navigated us to Westminster. We passed by Parliament and saw the London Eye. We went to this Dali and Picasso exhibit that was there. I wasn't too crazy about Picasso, but I really wanted to see Dali. (I had a really psychedelic dream about him last night.) We also went to Trafalgar Square and played with the pigeons before heading into the National Gallery. It was amazing to see Van Gogh and Monet (was there Manet, too?). I bought some souvenirs at the gift shop for my mom and an accordion for myself. Why they had accordions at the National Gallery, I have no clue.

The day ended not-so-pleasantly. Evan lost her wallet or has it stolen. She was, obviously, terribly upset. She and I headed back to Cobham and we thought we could catch Hannah's award ceremony at ACS. We took a cab there. Hannah ended up NOT being there at all. We were the only ones who were very under dressed and the snobby parents gave us odd looks. Evan probably made it worse by playing my accordion while waiting for a cab back to the hotel. So, that was £13 wasted there, all looking for Hannah. We were too tired to go to dinner after all of that.

June 23
We all went to Hannah's graduation ceremony, which was long and awfully boring. All the speeches were nothing but wind. Evan, Robert and I entertained ourselves by poking fun at the heavily self-tanned women and the man in front of us with the Bald Spot.

Hannah's parents took us all to lunch at the Woodlands. Apparently, Oscar Wilde used to live there or frequent there. I didn't quite pay attention to the history because I was distracted by the rabbits hopping around. ^_^ So cute.

Hannah's prom was later that day and she went off with Robert. I told Evan that I would stay at the hotel and rest so that she could be alone with Nathan in London. So, I took a really long bath and watched television. Haha, despite how boring that sounds, it was something I needed.

June 24
The entire gang (Hannah's parents, Mel, Hannah, Robert, Evan and I) went into London to do the actual touristy things. We didn't because Parliament and Westminster Abbey wasn't exactly open to the public. We went to Trafalgar Square and visited the National Gallery again, since Hannah and Robert weren't with us when we went before. It seemed kind of rushed. I don't remember what else we did that day, other than pack later at the hotel.

June 25
Woke up very early to get to the airport, on our way back to Houston. I managed to sleep more on the flight back, but it wasn't any more comfortable. I was starving by the time we landed. As soon as I saw my parents waiting for me, I rushed us out of there to get some food. "Okay, hi, yeah, LET'S GO. I'm hungry." Hahaha, it wasn't quite like that, but I did hurry out of the airport. My parents both told me I had lost weight when they first saw me. Thank you, public transportation!

I didn't get much sleep last night. I took a very long nap when I finally got to my house and I woke up around midnight. I watched some weird movie last night and an informercial for sex toys. The ladies who hosted the infomercial were sharing WAY too much information. :/ Now I need to make some breakfast/lunch for the kids here and for myself. Plegh.

PICTURES, YOU GUYS
They're not exactly in sequential order, but I did the best I can.
