:D I uh, actually decided recently that I can't stand the Outlander series, but I'm pathetically and hopelessly addicted to her Lord John Grey series. I was actually reading those when Eblan got me into Song of Ice and Fire; and I love him so, so much. One of my favorite literary characters ever.
Gabaldon isn't particularly amazing at writing mystery novels, but I think Lord John ends up being her best character -- he reminds me a lot of Jon Snow, where they're just normal people who find themselves constantly in the middle of ridiculous situations, and it cracks me up endlessly.
I'm like, the only fangirl for that series in the world. Eb went with me to a book signing for Gabaldon recently and as I was sitting in a room of Jamie/Claire fanatics someone asked me what I was reading and I was like ":> Lord John is my favorite!" and the woman literally got up and moved away from us. I actually need to do like, five more reviews. :\ I'm a little behind.
