few comments:

1) there were almost no undecideds this election
2) most polls on the last day before the election were coming out 51% Bush 48% Kerry nationally
3) the exit poll in Pennsylvania showed Kerry winning by 20 points, approximately 60-40
there's speculation this was because a lot more democratic voters came out early in the day
4) Ohio still uses the old punch card system in about 90-95% of its counties
5) I do believe, however, that all the machines should print out paper slips for possible recounts
