I've been doing some digging into the FFVII canon and I really don't see Cloud doing much more than whooping up on Reno. I don't see the need for the rampant flirting he's been doing. It's very OOC.

Cloud has been in this place for over a year. During that time he has been subjected to a couple curses that have altered his attitude and he has had a couple relationships with people who have taught him how to flirt. Also the flirting in the last post with Reno is actually him trying a different approach to get Reno to react since Reno has been unresponsive towards the normal methods of them BS. And yes since they have been friends more or less for a few months since Reno accepted it, they will do a not-gay flirt because men do that. I know non-gay co-workers that do that at work when they have a comfortable relationship, and the same goes for Reno and Cloud.

As for rampant flirting, this is the first time he's flirted with Reno in the past few months.

And now that I look at the past interactions between the two, Cloud has done it four times in six months and most of them are Cloud saying something in completely the wrong way.
