I'm very glad that I was only peripherally aware of the VC shitstorm on tumblr, since I was largely too busy to pay attention and never got that involved in VC fandom there in the first place. DW and LJ are much safer environments all around for us, I think.

It makes me relieved that I never gave in to my occasional temptation to make a VC-specific sideblog on there. If I'd had one and it had been successful, I'd have been a target (it was noticeable how many targets were well-liked in the community both because they were nice, approachable people, and because they had popular VC blogs), and even if it had been some obscure little effort with only a few followers, having made it would've made it a lot harder to just step out of the fandom on that site.

As it is, I would've quit Tumblr altogether if I hadn't had so many sideblogs on other subjects, and I it was a nuisance making a new primary blog with which to run them and transferring admin permissions - I just didn't want to have to sign into my old blog any more, period.

Yeah, that's kind of thing is largely what's prevented me from organizing any fandom sideblogs. (FYBP has been the exception because it was already running.) Even thought I've never been a target or potential target of anything bad, I've thought about quitting tumblr so many times just because I come across so much toxic bullshit on here, but I think I've reached a point where my dash has been cleansed enough to be enjoyable.

I've missed your presence on Tumblr, which is possibly one reason why I've been spending less time there myself. That's probably good in the long run, but I miss the nice times there!
