I made a number of ceramic, raku-fired pentacles that I sold through a shop in Victoria. A pair of 'em were purchased for use in a hand-fasting; I was kind of awed by that. (...as opposed to being odd...)

I have to say that whole 'awe' bit? same here...

and that? that is soooooo frickin' neat yo... AWESOME.

I think the 'weird' on my end has to do with self esteem issues... cuz it's weird as in " why would anyone do that?! It's so cool!! but WHYYY?!?!?!" ... XD

do you still make the pentacles? Or have pictures or a site anywhere?

Sadly, I have not had my hands in clay in quite a number of years. I really must remedy that.

I still have one of my clay pentacles, though it isn't raku fired. Instead it had an iron oxide flux rubbed into it, giving it the appearance of stone age artifact with traces of red ocher.

I still have the mold for those, though. Must make more some day. Must do more raku someday. *sigh*

I do happen to have a picture of my remaining pentacle, along with some other objects sacred to me, which I consecrated at Stonehenge. The jade-like pendant is also one of my creations, raku fired.

Oh, heck it's been about 15 years now. hard to remember what was the first item sold. I suppose if you mean ritual items specifically it was probably a wand. Also it was stolen from the shop it was on consignment at rather then sold. I felt bad for the store owner that had to tell me, and sorry for the one that took it since that sort of Karma no one needs. Any of the actual sales I was just happy they all seemed to find good homes.

I had someone ask about a drawing a did for a tattoo... they wanted to use it, but if they did, I'll never know. People don't usually buy my things... and .. I donno.. I don't really create anymore, other than the occasional colour drawing or something like that. I wish I could get back into crafting. I'm going to be taking a ceramics class this fall, if I hopefully get into MJC (money is my issue, not really anything else.. I've already been accepted, but if they don't waive the initial fees, I'm screwed.. =( ... ) but like.. I donno.. I want to CREATE but I never have the knowledge or whatever, or the materials.. mostly it's the money. I never know what to do with my things I make anyway. I always feel like no one wants them. Maybe I should invest in a digital camera that is awesome, to take pictures of my craft things... that way the details can be seen, you know? And maybe I will put them on dA to sell... or I donno.. your crafts are better ( ... )

There's a question.. Have you ever tried wire wrapping? The metals and the materials can be as cheap or expensive as you want... and each wire wrapper has a different way of wrapping ( I've seen like eight styles/ people so far.. and I wrap different then them so it seems cool to do. Some use half round, quarter round, completely round, copper, brass, steel, sterling silver... and I know of one girl that works in gold/white gold.. which is.. O.o;)

Can even do copper and glass... make jump rings for a chainmaile necklace... or twisty wire hook and eye attachments. Mostly need a pair of pliers and a wire cutter. Fancier stuff can have use of a jewlers saw or a round nosed plier too.

DUDE.. you could put a wire wrapped jewel/rock in a candle! THAT would be nifty!

DOES. WANT!

I used to do stuff like this:

and

I've heard of wire wrapping, but I haven't actually done it myself. I was interested in it, though. I had my jewelry/wire works tools once upon a time but what's left of them are packed away in boxes down in Tennessee in storage. D=

One day... I will create again.

I hope that One Day is soon.

You better do the creating thing! Do you know how neat it would be to be in a shop with those kinds of candles? Those are gorgeous! With prizes in them... ... NOW I WANT ONE! DX...

Take care on your trip babe! Let us all know how it goes!
