Because before I left for IL I asked if anyone wanted specific pictures, and this is me finally getting around to uploading it... with a few extras- becaues they're cool too!
This is actually the start of the trees, taken before the request but never resized and shown- I thought the light and shadows and twisty trunks of the willows were neat as heck. Near Byron and Portage glaciers.
The next few trees were taken with regards to the request during the hike up Byron Glacier:
and yes, I took these straight up and down... the trees though.. they were all bent due to the katabatic wind off the glacier. Because the trunks bent away- down the valley...
Now these? They are just fun. Taken here in IL, a day after one of the storms hit *happy purr*:
While the other one, the healthy tree above me was surely impressive and I highly suspect because it was whole and sound that it succumbed to death by lightning... blow apart and all impressive! But this one? With the rotted out trunk? It's my fave.... not only is my kid and his new friend in it? ( I'm allowed! ) .... but that's one BIG tree! ( and why I have the kids in it... for scale... ) .... This? This was WIND:
and this is the park that the trees were at- the trees would be BEHIND this playground, but the fact is this is cropped from an image ... and I"m standing as far as I can and STILL can't get the playground in the whole shot.
So that's the photos for a bit ^^
