Yet another shameless plea for critiques - yep, this is for class. R&R? Please? ^^

For a change of pace, this is my attempt at a horror story, done as sort of a homage to Edgar Allan Poe. First draft and I'm not nearly as good as he is, nor what one would call experienced at horror writing, but hopefully it works well enough...

s a poor servant girl told me time and again, my only purpose was to serve my betters. Daily abuse of all sorts was merely a fact of life, not worth being remarked upon. This was the state of affairs for my most of my life and even serving immortal masters didn't change it. I suppose it's true situtations change but people never do. My masters never failed to remind me that I was inferior to them, whether they be vampire or human. My desires were consistently ignored. And after almost a century of this form of servitude,I was informed that I would be unable to exist away from them due to my need for their blood among other things. Only a few days into our exile,the perfect opportunity to implement the second stage of my plan presented itself. Master Wilhelm had been so angry since the exile,although it took the form of ordering me to make the residence presentable. However, considering the state of the house, this was easier said than done.Had I been mortal, I would have collapsed from exhaustion with all the work I did ( ... )

But because I was well aware that didn’t know what I had done, I added his continuing and additional cruelty to his list of crimes, and vowed to show him no mercy.

Other than the word missing in this sentence, it was really well writen. I can't really say it's horror though. It's a ste off, because there's no scary stuff.
