I understand the feeling of finding someone who enjoys the same manga/anime/series than you. It's almost magical to talk about something you thought only you liked with someone else. I assume Portland is a place with Japanese shops? Here where I live there's a Japanese neighbourhood where you can find food, manga and everything Japan-related. I love it!

Yes, it's a wonderful feeling! I feel like I don't connect with people about fandom as often as I'd like!

Portland is the largest city in the state of Oregon. There's a store "Uwajimaya" that is located there with a Japanese book store inside Kinokuniya.
Between these two stores you can buy from Japanese manga, Japanese sweets, Mochi, curry mix and so on. It's a really fun store!
Although the one in Portland pales in comparison to the Uwajimaya/Kinokuniya in Seattle, Washington.

Tomorrow I'm going to do some "japanese shopping". I hope I can find something nice for me and a nice meal - maybe takoyaki!

I'm so glad that things are going well for you :) Yay for having fun in Portland with your mom :D And yay art stuff! :D

Thank you! It was a really wonderful trip and it was SO nice to have FUN with my mom. I'm so used to it being hard and just being annoyed/frustrated with her. I'm glad our relationship is changing more to an adult relationship VS her feeling like she has to try to control everything I do.

I WANT to be productive during the day! And to some degree I am but something about the night brings out the muse for me x500! I wonder what it is! I heard somewhere it comes from a certain level of being tired or something....?
Maybe it's just because there's less to do / distract you from working....? Who knows. XD
Won't knock it since it works. Ahaha!
