Bonfire in Salamanca??

I have guests coming from QLD in just over 2 weeks and they have said that they saw somewhere that there will be a bonfire in Salamanca during the time that they are here (end of june begining of july).

i have never heard of this but then i tend to be a hermit.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this??

Would it part of the winter
