as an aside, i think i am the only north american who owns the BeeGee's first album (Spicks and Specks, right?)

Apparently, no, The Bee Gees Sing and Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs is their first album - a title which is a masterpiece of stating the obvious.

Spicks and specks was their second, then, just to confuse things further, their third album was Bee Gees' 1st.

But, much congratulations on appreciating the Bee Gees at their best - Spicks and specks has also lent its title to a light-comedy/music quiz show on Australian television: http://www.abc.net.au/tv/spicksandspecks/

The hardcore rock nerd, however, disdains Spicks and specks in favour of Rockwiz ( http://www.sbs.com.au/rockwiz/ ). It was at the touring show of Rockwiz that I met and got my photo taken with Dave Faulkner of Hoodoo Gurus.
