So I was on a bus on the way to a skiing resort about 2 hours out of Sapporo and we're passing by a convienience store (Sunkus maybe?) and WAIT. That poster looks familiar...Oh no...It can't be...But it is. It was the Tohoshinki Pinky Itten Shinki! poster advertising their Pinky mints. And I thought they'd all been sold out (excluding the recent re-sale which I thought was only for BigEast members). Sadly, I doubt the bus driver, nice as he was, would've stopped for the likes of a Tohoshinki fangirl (though I bet there were more on the bus...*shifty look*). Turns out my ski instructor and the lady skiing with me also knew them quite well; "OOooh, Tohoshinki, very famous in Japan!" to quote my ski instructor. I suspect the lady was also a fan as she looked a little flushed when talking about them. Or maybe that's just my inner-fangirl overanalyzing 8D
Saw them on Music Station Super Live :DDDDDDDD but I am a little tired of "Stand by U". I was hoping for "Bolero" or "Mirotic"...Oh well. Seeing them is good enough right now but then at the Japan Gold Records Awards, Kohaku and CDTV they performed the same song -__- but I guess it's their latest (excluding their CM songs like Endlessly Sweet for Pinky and Toki wo Tomete for Menard-that is one CM song I'd like to hear live)
Anyways, got back to Sapporo and went into HMV and at the front was a big poster for their "Best Hits" album. Inside there was also a display of magazines of them, SS501, BOF, Big Bang.....And I ended up buying their "Secret Code in Tokyo Dome" concert DvD. My poor purse....It was pretty expensive.
Popped into the local Family Mart on the way back and was like ASIDHKJASGDKJ they sell Final Fantasy XIII can drinks?!?! I didn't know that.....Then I researched on the internet and found out that it's part of a promotional campaign before the release of the game. Bought a can with the main character, Lighting, on (didn't know her name at the time or who she was, she just looked cool XD). The drink itself is nothing special but I found it pretty fizzy-almost choked in surprise since I don't drink many soft drinks other than coke or 100plus. Tasted a bit like Sprite with a more fruity flavour (IMO). I'm not a fan of the FF series seeing as I haven't played most of the games other than FF7 and FF10/11 but I do like the animation.
Was in Osaka airport later on in my trip, still a little sad I hadn't found any of the elusive Pinky sweets despite seeing that poster (goddamn you convienience store, getting my hopes up >.<), wandering around looking at shops/food when I saw this-
-and almost spazzed out from sheer happiness/excitement. Bought one of each hee hee-the cashier gave me a knowing look when I walked up. Hahaha, I think this made up for me falling in a snow drift XD Pretty damn cold....But I must say, the snow is perfect there. Snow everyday, and it's powdery! Better than Whistler (no offence to Whistler, dog-sledding there is awesome) and much, much better than the UK.
To finish things off in this Toho related post, in the JAL magazine onboard (no english) there was an advertisement for some casino in Macau with Lee Byunhyung (of I.R.I.S/The Good, the Bad and the Weird/G.I Joe) and....Tohoshinki.
