Like Seriously!! I mean, I know that no one is ever going to top AW!Madeline. It is impossible to be as awesome as AW! but I'm just not feeling Velasca and her *I'm going to get you GABRIELLE and your little dog* routine as Madeline.

This is going to sound weird, but I kind of think that Hudson Leick playing a slightly less wild version of Callisto would make a good Madeline. I mean the way she is so blase about life until Xena or Gabrielle enter the picture is sort of reminiscent of the way that Madeline conducts herself. Maddy's got that whole detachment issue going on until her sister's memory gets brought up.

Ooh, Hudson would be an interesting Madeline! Not like Alberta Watson but better than Velasca! I've seen the previews of the new Nikita and have little interest. The lead isn't really holding my attention in the commercials, unfortunately.

Watching Hudson in 'A Necessary Evil' and 'Sacrifice' sort of reminds me of a Madeline without the benefit of the structure that Section provided her.

I hadn't saw that so thanks for the link! They have some pretty good episodes, but they left off 'The Price' and that was the episode where I knew that Xena was going to be one of my favorite shows.

And even though, I love 'Who's Gurkhan?' I don't think that it is a top five episode. Of course, having said that, this is pretty much my favorite vid!!! X/G TV Night

You should so totally rewatch the show because you find new things to squee! about. Like, while I enjoyed the Xena Scrolls episode, I never got into Mel/Janice until I watched it the second time and now I can't help but ship a foul-mouthed, hard drinking Gabrielle and a gentle southern Xena.

Oh god, this remake. I keep trying to have an open mind and then I hear something like this. Do you know if the character is called Madeline, or is it a "new" character? In any case, I'm still going to watch. I'll just be sure to get really drunk beforehand.

Actually, I think the character's name is going to be 'Amanda' but from the character's description, they are definitely going for a Madeline vibe -supposedly she is going to be a 'master manipulator.'

The role she played on Xena was not exactly Emmy material, but when she was onscreen, I wasn't exactly impressed. It is not really fair to make to compare her to Lucy Lawless, Renee O' Connor, or Hudson Leick because ultimately the strong suit of Xena was the ability of those three actresses.

The actress was a guest role on Firefly, as a madam/companion and I thought she was great - and so far, based on one scene - I like her well enough as Amanda/Madeline.

Oh, that's right, she was in 'Heart of Gold.' But still, she didn't have that *something* that made AW or PW stand out and in Xena -even though the part wasn't exactly Emmy material- she was a little cringe worthy.

Of course, there is a good chance that the remake will be nothing like the original in terms of tone and style so her portrayal of Amanda/Madeline might be fine for the show.
