But I have totally fallen in love with Alex Cabot from Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and River Song from Dr. Who. I really did not mean to get involved with a new show let alone two new shows in the middle of a semester, but Netflix is such an enabler for fangirls! I do have a few more thinky SQUEE thoughts about my two new favorite

Alex was totally awesome. I loved Abby Carmichael too. Yes, we got little of them but what little we got was AWESOME.

Did you see the one where Alex prosecuted John Ritter and obliterated him on the stand? It was something to see. Worthy of Madeline, that was. Alex was righteous.

Check out chaila43 for River Song vids, meta, etc. I think you will very happy there. :-)

Oooh, I haven't seen the episode with John Ritter yet, but I'm looking forward to it now.(Random fact alert: I think that I share a birthday with him. I loved his wife in Wings and I was so sad to hear about his passing) I have been working my way through the seasons slowly and skipping around to the *shippy/subby* episodes. But yeah, she does a Madeline vibe thing going on. Hmm... well that explains why I have mad Alex love. Of course, she is not as composed/controlled as Madeline, but I think that kind of works for her in episodes like S2 "Guilt."

because she is not waiting around on the Doctor despite things that she knows about the past/present/future. I just get the feeling that despite what has been written about River's future, she makes her own future

And Daybreak has recced Chaila's stuff--I emphatically concur. Specifically the vid Run With Me, which I suspect most people in the fandom would rec to you, and the fic Present Perfect, which I ADORE (granted, it was my birthday present, so possibly I'm biased--but it really is wonderful).

Also beccatoria, who has a number of vids and meta pieces about River that I love, but I'll rec these two vids in particular: Set My World Into Motion, which made me want to check out this River person with her awesome shoes, and A Thousand Goodbyes, which is the most perfect River/Doctor song ever.
