But I do find season four to be fairly weak in terms of the quality of episodes and low on rewatch value--the only ones that I really love are the library episodes and the one with Agatha Christie
See those are great episodes, but I thought there were a lot of really awesome episodes in S4 like "Turn Left," and the episodes with the poison gas, and how could you not love "the band gets back together" to fight the Daleks (well except the ending of the DoctorDonna).
Oh and I'm all about the foreshadowing so all the S4 foreshadowing about Donna (there is something on your back) just played into my tv kinks.
Donna was a little too insecure for me, and I thought she mentioned she was a temp one too many times. I love them both, but to me, River is just a better-written character, or at least a more respected one.Donna's insecurity was actually fascinating to me and made me love her ( ... )

Re Amy and fandom:It seems to me that DW Fandom is a little misogynistic. I know that Donna is pretty much universally praised now, but I get the feeling that wasn't always the case. And just surfing around the net, it seems like River gets a lot of flack and poor Martha gets shit from every one.
