Bravo! hehe, I remember studying that poem in a couple of English classes and having to write our own versions. A few people would always come up with some really good ones. There was even a This American Life episode that was all about people apologizing in a not-quite-apologetic manner which ended with a piece on "This is just to say" and a bunch of people's takes on it.
This American Life replayed that episode last week and that's why I wrote my own.
My version is written from the point of view of a co-worker who never really apologizes for things. I was once in the back of a truck and he threw a large shard of wood on top of it to scare me, but it actually hit the truck and skipped off just as I stepped out of the back and it nearly impaled me. He of course started laughing and saying, "I'm sorry, dude, really I'm sorry, but that was really funny."
