Goodbye Sydney

I am in Oakland airport right now. We were hoping Sydney would make it through at least one more week, so that Erich and I could go to Joe and Ellen's wedding without being all sad there. I flew to SF this morning for work, and my plan was to fly home Tuesday

I can't tell you how much it means to me that you and Erich have been such wonderful kitty parents to Syd and Miss Kitty.
Sydney's a special guy, and I'll miss him, and will be thinking of you all tomorrow.

Oh Joanne, thank you so much. I remember back when I didn't want to keep Sydney because he was grouchy toward other kitties. I am so glad I kept him because he has so much love in him.

I will definitely give him a big Mr. Widdles cuddle for you.

So many people, when they heard he was sick, came out to tell me how wonderful he was, how he had touched their lives, and to visit him. I don't think that usually happens for kitties, but Sydney is just that special.

We have a rental car reserved at the airport -- we're gonna fly in and head right up to Mendocino for the wedding. I definitely appreciate the offer of help, though. This is so hard. Knowing other people care makes all the difference.

*hugs* I can't imagine losing my cats, I live in fear of that day. I'm so so sorry it had to come for you guys so soon. At least you got to give him a great quality of life his last few months.

And my Vlad sounds very much like your Sydney with the headbutts and purring, so if you ever need to get a kitty love "pet me now or I'll give you stink eye" fix, you're always welcome over here.
