I can understand the desire to not have anything sort of 'unnatural' floating around in your bloodstream. I don't know much about costs, either, do vaccinations cost anything?
I'm like you in that I don't bother with a flu shot (I almost never get sick, and flu isn't that dangerous unless you're old, young, or already sickly, right? I don't know about pregnant..). The only thing I would disagree with is getting immunized against some of the more deadly childhood diseases... I'm probably paranoid, but I've watched one too many episodes of House/ER/Gray's Anatomy where someone dies of a common but deadly thing, like measles or something. x.x

I applaud your decisions though! Good for you for wanting to go the path you're going - if your baby grows up and decides she wants to be immunized after all, she can make that decision on her own. =)

actually the only time the flu actually harms you is when you are already immuno compromised. House/ER/Gray's Anatomy (although I love the shows) take the absolute worst case scenarios. What those shows don't tell you is whether or not the patient was already inoculated for the disease. If she decides that she wants one when she is older (like the one for HepB prevention or Cervical Cancer) than it is her wish and she can do it. Vaccinations do cost money. There are a lot of programs that will pay for it for you and your child if you need them. But Oni thank you for not being mean about it. There are some things I will get done for her, but chickenpox...I had that vax and still caught it, so in my opinion it's worthless.

Yeah, I hear you on the chicken pox thing; I got chicken pox anyways, and then I had shingles (advanced case of chicken pox) again when I was older! That's gotta be the most worthless... -mumble-
