Firstly, remember that:

- The Beta Request post is still open, so if you need a beta, writers, please comment to that post!

- Rough Drafts are due June 28th! :)

- The final check-in will open on July 12th! That's a little over one month from today! :)

I'm a writer and an artist, so I suppose I'll answer all of the questions...

* (writers/artists) Are you still participating? Yes
* (writers) How is your word count looking? Pathetic, but hopefully it'll get better over the next few weeks.
* (artists) Are you matched with a writer, and if so, how many? With one writer.
* (artists) At what stage would you say your artwork is right now, and how many pieces are you planning? Still in the brainstorming phase, but I'm planning to have two pieces or at least two variations, but probably not much more since another artist is also working on pieces for the same story.
* (writers/artists) Anything else you feel might be relevant/want to share? I've been in contact with my artist and I've been in contact with my author, so hopefully everything is going as planned :)

I'm both a writer and an artist so my answers are complicated ;)

* (writers/artists) Are you still participating? Yes to both.

* (writers) How is your word count looking? 30K words thus far but I'm well behind my writing schedule for this fic.

* (artists) Are you matched with a writer, and if so, how many? I'm matched with one author but may end up doing art for my own story as well.

* (artists) At what stage would you say your artwork is right now, and how many pieces are you planning? The author made contact but doesn't have a draft for me to view yet. I have asked for a WIP draft a.s.a.p. otherwise I may not be able to provide her with artwork.

* (writers/artists) Anything else you feel might be relevant/want to share? As a writer, I made a serious miscalculation about the due date for this Big Bang. For some reason I thought it was September 1st and not August 1st. I am very worried about making the deadline now. I sorta needed the 3 months to finish this monster ( ... )

If you end up needing more time, that's okay! There were a few people last year due to real life issues that posted late. Just let me know closer to the date and we'll work it out then :)

Is contact with your artist going better now?

Contact with the author that I'm supposed to illustrate for hasn't progressed. I heard from her once, sent her another note, but have had nothing back. I will try again, but I suspect that there might be a problem here. I'll keep you apprised.

* (writers) How is your word count looking? I'm at around 14k, with an estimated 2k-3k words to go. I have it all plotted out, I just need to expand upon that plan.
* (writers/artists) Anything else you feel might be relevant/want to share? I emailed what I have so far to both of my artists last week, and I have a beta lined up for when I completely finish the first draft.

Right now I'm brainstorming, looking for screencaps/stock photos that spark my interest, and trying to decide if I want to have a theme or just do whatever feels right/looks good. I'm hoping to do maybe three pieces, but I haven't decided for sure yet.
