I haven't written fanfic in... over a year; but here verily is my lurch back into the fray with a short Reid post-"Revelations" fic about -- you guessed it --

If anyone can think of a better title than "Detour", please let me know. I don't know if this is *really* finished or will lead to something further.

Having read and re-read your Highlander stories - I'm excited (and slightly worried about Reid) to see you writing in Criminal Minds (a shiny new fandom for me too). Thank you for sharing.

I'm just so stymied that Hotch is married, because that would be my pairing in a red hot minute.

Love the imagery of the mental/spiritual smile without the physical smile at the end. You really conveyed the feeling of Reid's utter surrender to the drug, the experience, the feeling ..... the letting go. Great work! I just started watching the show - after seeing all the post-Superbowl hoopla - and now think that I need to get the Season 1 DVDs to get caught up. Thanks for the lovely little ficlet!

Thank you so much. Having a slight obsession here, yet finding it a very hard fandom to write in. Perplexing! So I'm really glad you liked it.

Was mulling: That really was a terrific child-geek they found to play Reid as a kid. It's so nice when they do a flashback *right*! And the woman who plays his mother is sensational.

I've watched the show since the beginning, but only just now turned "fannish" for it. Let's hope their follow-through continues to be great on this arc.
