Broadcast me a joyful noise

Mr Witney-CD-Shop-Man (I still don't know his name) clearly likes me - or perhaps, more accurately, my repeated custom.

I went in at lunchtime to buy the new Mogwai album that was released today, and he came up to me and offered two free tickets to The Delays at Shepherd's Bush Empire tomorrow night. Regrettably, I'm not really keen enough on them ( Read more... )

.. the shop is called Rapture- do them a favour and give them a plug since they are an independent! The 'man' could well be Tom, Jenny's boyfriend, if he is short and has a goatee and looks like a bass player lol. if not he is one of the other two guys whose names I do know but have forgotten! One of them is Gary and the other is.... um well he is the other one.
They have the shop in Carterton that used to be Ginger records too. That is the one they were going to ask Thom Yorke to open since he is a buddy of one of them. Think he was a bit busy though :(

Enjoy the music and stop being surprised if I know the occasional 'unknown' band. LOL

No, it wasn't Tom, I know which one Tom is - which is kind of odd. I do need to say 'hi' to him at some point and explain how I know him, 'cos it's a bit bizarre knowing who he is whilst he doesn't know me from Adam. "Hello Tom, I'm Chris, I'm Jenny's mum's friend, STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE I'M A WEIRDO".

No, it's the taller, quietish guy who seems to be the owner/manager or something since he's always there and seems to be the one that the others defer to.

And I didn't refer to it as Rapture because the other people on my friends-list live, variously, in Oxford, Birmingham, Reading, and Liverpool/Bristol, and so would not have a clue what I meant if I said "Rapture" (except maybe getting the confused impression that it's when a lot of music fans get taken off to Heaven by Jesus or something.... heheh).
