I left them standing on the banks

I noticed this article on the BBC News website at the weekend, about how emailing and texting are replacing pen-and-paper for communication. It notes that 50% of written communication is by email (which actually sounds low to me), 29% by text message, and just 13% by letter (I haven't worked out what the other 8% is!). This was quite a well-timed ( Read more... )

ok, 1st thing's 1st. if you're going to buy a house of your own, don't move further away! in fact... move closer! yes, that's right, move closer! but it does suck that you feel like you live in a hotel. it's a bit like that at homw with my brothers constantly coming home and then going out again to work or their girlfriend's.

I don't have any immediate plans to move; I'm just starting to think about it now so I have some vague idea of what I can afford and what prices are like in different areas and so on.

If I did move, though, I would expect it would be to Witney (further), Eynsham (same), or this side of Oxford (closer). Anything else would make it a hassle to get to work, unless I learn to drive - which is another thing I need to start thinking about, I keep saying "I should get around to it" but I've been saying that for years now.

In the past couple of years, we've had to look for a new housemate five times. It's getting tedious now - plus it's always a bit worrying because we rent the house rather than each renting a room, so if we don't find anyone we're responsible for the rent on the empty room too.

lol... it would definitely be interesting, that's for sure.

I bet you're a really bad back-seat driver though... I can just imagine you telling people what to do and where to go. Plus you'd probably start rambling on about maps of the underground, or socks, or something else, and they'd have to pull over so they could giggle at you without crashing!

Yeah, I saw. I didn't really have anything to say in reply though, I'm still too busy fuming... I'd have liked to see them again.

Is there any reason why you picked that as your default icon? The eyes are freaking me out! lol.
