I had quite a relaxing weekend after the stress that was Friday's exam. On Saturday I pootled off back to Abingdon for the afternoon to see the_div for a game of Federation Commander (it's based on Star Fleet Battles but without a rulebook hefty enough to kill a man). I promptly got trounced, mainly on account of thinking as if I was playing SFB but also ( Read more... )

Firefly can only be seen via DVD as foolish foolish network execs cancelled it after 13 episodes.
I am surprised davegotsu didn't try to make you watch it as it is great and he has a copy.

I hate foolish foolish network execs.

davegotsu has already introduced me to the wonders of Lost by watching an episode last time I was crashing at his place for gigs (which resulted in me watching it, going "oooh", and then downloading the entire first series to catch up... I am now addicted). He is therefore forgiven. Ooh, speaking of Lost, episode 2.20 airs in the US this week so I must remember to keep an eye out for it.

Should I start peering through the windows of Games Workshop for you again?
LMAO - You always seemed to find it such an insulting idea and I got oodles of mileage from it.
And before you start nagging - yeah yeah I will update some time.

Since SFB and Federation Commander have nothing whatsoever to do with Games Workshop, I wouldn't go peering through the window just yet. Besides, I avoid Games Workshop whenever possible because you can get their stuff so much cheaper elsewhere, plus their staff are far too (artificially) friendly which means you can't even go in for so much as a pot of paint without someone leaping on you and asking for your entire GW-related gaming history (I prefixed that with "GW-related" because if you even so much as hint that there are non-GW wargames out there you will get glared at... it's actually quite fun to taunt them in this way, I've done that before).
