Well, I'm back from France. It was a good trip, although there was virtually no time for sightseeing - when we weren't working, we were drinking. We did have a brief wander about on the first night and saw the Eiffel Tower (from a distance), but that was pretty much the extent of our explorations ( Read more... ) -
Kidlington Congress
Well, the chess tournament went less well than I hoped, but not as badly as I had feared in my last entry. Yesterday sucked - three games, three losses - but I managed to claw back a bit today and got two draws from two games ( Read more... ) -
Bah.
I have a university assignment due in today that, for a whole multitude of reasons, I haven't quite been able to finish. I've had to ask for an extension, which I really hate doing and have only done once before. It just leaves me feeling under even more pressure to not screw up the next assignment due to having spent too much time catching up on ( Read more... ) -
So far, so good...
In the month of January, my entire caffeine intake consisted of two coffees. That's right, not a single coca-cola or similar caffeinated soft drink. Be impressed, people. -
Hmmm.
I've just had a policeman turn up at the door, telling me that one of my neighbours had their car stolen from their drive last night, and asking if I'd heard anything (I hadn't, I'd been engrossed in CSI - that's almost ironic - and then went to bed knackered). How strange it is to be anything at all
I'm finding it very hard to get any work done at the moment. I'm listening to Neutral Milk Hotel's "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" and it's sent me into one of my funny moods where I want to really listen and pay attention to every note and every sound. I love this album, but it really isn't very conducive to working on boring call statistics ( Read more... ) -
Weekend
On Saturday I tootled off down to Reading to see fairy_of_ice69. Rail works meant I had to get a coach from Oxford to Didcot, which added quite a bit to the journey time but it could have been worse (at least nothing broke down). iTunes rating bug
I'm not sure what the hell has happened, but all the song ratings I've put into iTunes have moved about. I keep finding songs that I know I must have rated four- or five-stars that are now at one- or two-stars, and songs that in all honesty I couldn't tell you how they went without listening to them are suddenly five-stars ( Read more... ) -
