:)

If you ever want to check out a pretty decent book on the relationship between faith and science, check out Science and Religion: From Conflict to Conversation by John Haught (it's available on Kindle, too). Gives a great breakdown of the different positions and a solid understanding of a proper relationship between the two.

the danger of extreme spiritualism is that limited vision will reject what you can typically see. the danger of extreme materialism is that limited vision will reject what you can typically can't see.

also, galileo wasn't rejected because religion was threatened by science. he was tamed because he wanted to put science on the level of - and even dictating - religion. basically, he wanted any and all scientific findings to be considered dogma by the vatican immediately. and while the heliocentric model was a legitimately supported model - even with its dissenters like martin luther - there was no way to prove that it's actually the case beyond the shadow of a doubt. it was only until the 18th century when telescopes were powerful enough to measure the stellar parallax, which was the key factor in determining whether we are orbiting the sun or are stationary.
