Thank you! That's how the quilt started....I had all these piles of fabric that looked good together, just staring at me!
thanks! ;D

lovely! I like the fabric a lot!
Are you handsewing the whole thing?
Great work!

thank you Nessa!
I pieced the whole thing on the machine...but quilting it all by hand.
It is smaller than it looks in this picture...just a baby quilt.
Someday...(when!!?) I would love to make a large bedsize quilt for us...and handquilt. That would probably become a many years project!
haha!

I've always wanted a handquilted bed spread. My mom used to do lots of quilting, but she always made smaller quilts, or quillows
The thing I love about hand quilting is that is tells a story, the fabrics chosen, the love & care that goes into them. I still have a quilt made by my great-grandmother for my mother. I've done a couple of machine sewn small and very basic quilts, & I'd love to someday make a full quilt out of fabrics from my & my husband's past. I have a lot of respect for people who actually handsew each square. It is a beautiful art.

Oh I know!! Seeing handmade quilts in person are so amazing...just all that time and work that goes into them!
My mother has a stack of antique quilts she has collected and they are just so great to see in person , all the intensive work!
Let me know if you ever get around to starting on one...I have one planned, like in the next 5 years! haha!
