This is the most addicting thing about this ship - the transition both Leslie and Ben went throuh on the way to their relationship. It's quite a fairytale. And you pictured it so vividly and real. I enjoyed it so so much

This was just so touching and heart-warming. My brother always calls me when he's on the road so that rang so true for me.
I really like the idea that Ben is so close to him Mom. His spiral down to disillusionment is so real right down to her "I don't know what to tell you."

You know, I've been enjoying damaged!Ben fics a lot lately, and this hints at that, but here, even when he's down, he's not really damaged because he's got love and support. I LOVE that.

The overall tone is hopeful and optimistic and so fits with this show. Just, awww.

Wow, this is such a crazy awesome compliment that I'm just grinning like a crazy person at my computer screen. I'm so glad that this could hit on a personal level with you.

And that you thought that it felt real. But mostly that you thought the tone fits with show. That's...just crazy high praise :D. And, yeah, I really feel like Ben's mom has always been supportive of him, no matter what. So he is a little damaged, but he does it to himself, if that makes sense.

Oh my goodness, this was CHARMING. Ben's connection with his mother is so... organic. It reads so naturally!

And this But sometimes she just gets in the way and he is reminded of the all the pretty girls who have tried to help him before and his guard goes up. Oh hi, that's my heart breaking for Ben! Loved this, it made my stomach all flippy-floppy.

I'm so glad that you liked this, and weirdly, that I could break your heart for Ben. But mostly that it also felt flippy-floppy, because that's how Ben makes me feel too :D

Part of my job involves working to prevent distracted driving, so I cringed a little when he was on the phone while driving (LOL). That concern, of course, was overridden by the loveliness of this story. I really like the relationship between Ben and his mom. I also liked that this story was totally from Ben's perspective--Leslie only actually has one line of dialogue. As much as I love Leslie, I think that was pretty inventive. Really great story!

But, seriously, I'm really glad that you liked this. Ben is my favorite character on the show, so I really like trying to get in his head or to explore his past. And, while Leslie is one of the main focuses of this story, if not the conclusion, Ben is still the most important part. So I'm glad that you thought it was inventive! That makes me grin like a crazy person :P
