Goodbye Comcast

Comcast has a screwy pricing structure where you pay MORE for just internet service than if you get internet + cable TV. I called today to find out about transferring my service from the apartment to the house and they say there is a $20 transfer fee per service. What that means for me is $20 for the internet and $20 for the TV service that I ( Read more... )

I need to know more about this fast access direct! Cause I gave comcast the boot already too, but I have absolutely no use for a landline.

Not sure if you can get it directly through the website. I had a CSR direct me to it through their "Live Chat" thing online. BTW, use IE on their website -- I had problems getting my order placed using Firefox on my Mac.

The 1.5 MBit naked DSL plan is like 35 bucks and the 6 MBit plan is under $50. I was paying over $50 for basic cable + internets and I think it was pushing $60 if you want internets only.

They're sending me a modem for free, too! Would be $75 and then free after rebate but the guy on the phone was cool and waived the cost up-front.
