I like Girls With Slingshots
http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/gws.html (that's comic 847 since the numbering system and bookmarking (what would we need that for? We're a webcomic? Everyone reads it daily! Daily! Even if we don't update on time or at all! Or they have lives!) are arse.)
I have taken a foamingly violent dislike to
www.punchanpie.net because it started off well enough and then it went into an arc that was old enough to be in the ark (Noah's or Covenant, your call) and was just SO UNBELIEVABLY SMUG AND TWEE that I ripped my laptop in half like a telephone directory (disclaimer: things in this LJ may be exaggerated for comic effect).
I read every day:
www.dilbert.com/fast www.schlockmercenary.com www.somethingpositive.net www.questionablecontent.net and check and hope for updates from:
www.giantitp.com (Order of the stick)
www.mimismartypants.com There is a common theme running through all these comics and that is that they are actually funny. That's quite important to me in something I want to look at frequently. That's why
www.pvponline.com and
www.sluggy.com are no longer on this list and used to be. They're also pretty damn geeky which is good 'cause otherwise I'd be in denial.
I also have these bookmarked because they appeal to me but are slow to update:
www.xkcd.com (because sometimes it makes me so laugh so hard I get actual tears in my eyes)
http://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?db=comics&id=1723#comic (because Somethingpositive is just a bit too twee nowadays)
www.the-whiteboard.com (because polar bears with mallets are funny. Yes, I know it's probably a furry comic, but I try not to be prejudiced)
www.unshelved.com because in an alternate universe I am a kick-ass librarian ("His filing technique is unstoppable!")
http://devilspanties.keenspot.com because despite being laughably badly drawn and spelt I enjoy the honesty and the smut.
http://geebasonparade.com is also by Jenny Breeden and is so true to LARP that sometimes I have trouble remembering to breathe
www.phdcomics.com is amusing, but more importantly reminds me why I'm staying the hell out of education
I used to quite enjoy
www.leasticoulddo.com but then it became dull and
www.outtherecomic.com is great in reading the archives but is otherwise a _truly_ slow burner.
Comics that are sort of funny and have been quite influential on me but that I no longer read. It's not a large category and to it I assign
www.megatokyo.com and
www.scarygoround.com which when they update and are good are very, very good but are otherwise a bit meh. I find Nipponophilia as unpleasant as any other "philia" and questionablecontent does what scarygoround does but better. Anyway that's enough rambling for now. If there's something I haven't mentioned and it is totally awesome but I haven't mentioned it then chuck it at me and I'll see how it goes. I also, really, really like
www.cracked.com with its numbered articles but I suspect there may be less cross-gender appeal there.
And that's in part inspired by
