ugh, working with the public... i hear you loud and clear. although now i work with a somewhat more upscale (read: high-maintenence) kind of public, it still boggles the mind as to how blunt and idiotic some people can be.

I come for the color, but stay for the colour. ;p

but, yeah, customers can be awful. but I know you've always got a scheme ready to sell boxes to us! "why save up for otakon, when you can have BOXES?"

Next time someone brings up UPS and how awesome they are, mention their customs duty/brokerage fees. If I shipped the Otakon badges to you via UPS, you'd get hit for around $70 in customs brokerage fees when they delivered the package to you. US Postal and Canada Post, otoh, just send stuff to where it needs to go.

it's true. don't even get me started!

UPS corporate policy strikes again, leaving the little guy (i.e. ups store franchise owners & their employees) to deal with irate customers who got hit with the latest scam.

something to note, UPS only charges these additional fees if the package is sent via the Standard/Ground service level. Expedited, Express and SUPER ULTRA MEGAXPRESS 3000 A PLUS PLUS levels "include the brokerage fees in the price of shipping"

in actual fact, the post office has every right to charge you brokerage fees too, just that 9 times out of 10 they won't.
