Voting FAQ & Rules (Please Read!)

Don't get too excited - this isn't the list of nominations. ;P

Voting won't open for another 1.5-2hrs, but the post containing the 2008 nominations is HUGE and taking a while to type up properly (as LJ is screwing with me something awful), so I thought I'd put the Voting FAQ in a separate post. Please be sure to read through this post once voting

Just a matter of curiosity. Is voting going to be done via an LJ poll or some other method?

I don't have an account that allows for making LJ polls, so voting will be done in a similar method to the nominating. The list of nominations will be posted in the same category format, and voters will copy-paste it, deleting all but the fic they want to vote for in each category, then send it to me through whichever method is most appropriate to them.

Hopefully this method works, because I'm pressed for other ways of effectively doing this, and I'm preferring to leave as little up to LJ as possible at the moment ;)

Until 11:59 PM EST, January 24th - although, after seeing the list of nominees, I'm wondering if that's enough time for people to even attempt reading so many fics... We may have to discuss extending it, but at this point it's January 24th.

90 fics in 12 days? Nope, not a chance.

That's what I thought, too, but I've already received 4 nearly-full voting ballots for some reason, so either people aren't bothering to read any but the ones they already like, or they previously read most of them when they were first posted (there are quite a few repeat nominations). But like I said, if people want to, I'll extend the deadline. My only worry was that I'm going out-of-town next month and may not have as much time to devote to this if it's extended too far.
