When He Speaks...Listen

Jul 31, 2004 14:01

i ran this morning. went to trawood park and did 4 laps around the hills at about a 6:30 mile pace. not too shabby for being out of shape. Thank God i got through it. as i was running, God really spoke to me. I realized a vast amount of things that He has been trying to instill in me for quite some time. He convicted my heart on the 4th lap that i ( Read more... )

Christina i admire you because you have so much hope and drive to be the best you can possibly be and its such a great inspiration for me, especially in running. i dont have an idol simply because i dont want to be anyone else, just myself, but i look up to your determination and perseverance. thanks!

Christina, awesome story...u know what? i think that God puts many situations in our paths to c if we will do what he is asking us to...we pretty much always know and understand what it is, but i guess it's part of being "human" that sumtimes makes us decide not to...for some odd reason, He made u decide not to act on what He had originally wanted u to do, and maybe it's because He will put sumthing else in ur path that He knows u will follow through on what He wants u to do ;) take care, and don't feel bad about not having followed through...be glad that u at least have faith and that u KNOW that God is w/ u and depends on u to act, not evry1 has that kind of faith <3

christina... i love you! you have no idea! i love that you have faith and that i can count on you to keep mine up even when things get hard. i think it is so awesome that everything has been pointing to wisdom this past week, i love it when that happens! doesn't it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside :) to tell you the truth it was really weird actually, but like crazy i had to tell ya weird, because well i just got home from church where i saw your oh so goooorgeous face :) and i was talking to you about how you said that walter's message was like exactly what you were praying about and stuff and well i dunno in service this morning i was looking for a verse to speak to me about the whole crying myself to sleep thing and well God led me to this one verse that said "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues them from all their troubles." Psalm 34:18, and well i was already thinking like well wow, thanks God, i needed that. and well THEN i got home and was checking my email and i went to read the 'God's promise of the week ( ... )

aw man marti i love you too...and im soo glad that i can count on you for keeping me strong in my walk and just be there for me as an accountability partner. aw and i know, i love it when God just speaks to us through his clever ways and that everything just comes together and makes perfect sense...its amazing! wow, that is soo crazy about finding the same exact verse...when stuff like that happens its kinda freaky but sooooo awesome because you know God is talking directly to you. im so glad that God is guiding you through any troubles you have been facing lately through scripture. marti, you are a terrific terrific friend and you KNOW i will NEVER change the way i feel about ya...even if John David tries to make it out like im going to hate you for something..haha. we are going to get through this year together! i love ya like a chocolate kid loves cake! ;)

Hi Christina. I hope you don’t mind that I comment in your journal, I don’t think you will, but I was looking in Marti’s journal and I saw a comment that you wrote to her and I just found it really amazing how you used the scripture to comfort her and stuff and it was really just a beautiful and truth-filled comment and so I thought I’d take a look at your journal. I have to say that from what I’ve seen of you as a person, and now read from your journal, I really admire your devotion. I hate that I don’t let Christ be prevalent in all areas of my life, and to see you this morning talking about scriptures that you had read and looking different ones up and then hearing about these areas of your life that you really see a need for Him, and times you are struggling to let Him take control of situations that I know I all to often overlook as potential “Let-God-shine” moments, was really inspiring and encouraging. I admire that, rather than take other peoples’ word for it, you seek out what God says directly through His word. A lot of ( ... )

hey kristin! :) of course i dont mind! as a matter of fact, i hope you dont mind if i add you to my friends list. aww kristin, im very glad that i was able to be an encouragement to you today. as christians, we are suppose to be encouragers of one another and keep each other on fire for Christ. so i am glad that God was able to work through me to help you out in whatever it is you may be going through. and believe me, i KNOW...its sooo extremely difficult to surrender all the aspects of our lives to God but its soo worth it! He just puts everything in the place where it needs to be at that moment. and you are so right about people just having a basis to believe in on what they have been told in church over the years. you cant fully understand the truth and meaning behind God's word unless you start reading it for yourself and begin living through it. at super summer i made a whole lot of tough commitments myself and the following through process hasnt been easy but i am trying so hard to stay on that road(not the hiker's path ;)hehe ( ... )

Yep, surrendering is definitely worth it! Isn't it amazing how God works everything out? I've talked with Marti about that kind of stuff before - how something is really on your heart or something and then God will just speak to you in a totally specific way through like a scripture or a situation or something. I even wrote a journal entry about it cuz I found it so amazing this one time. I want you to know that I'll be praying for you, that you can stick to all your "tough" commitments through the strength God will give you. Yep, it's a narrow road, not so traveled, but not that hiker's path ;). That one we could turn around on - we don't want any turning around on this one :). You have a good day, Christina. You're on my friends list now :).
