The Boston Job
6,400 words - PG-13 - Arthur/Eames, Ariadne/Yusuf

Arthur can’t seem to make his schedule match up with Eames’, but that’s cool. It’s not like he misses him or anything. At various stages, kyasuriin, bookshop, and fosfomifira all gave me tremendous amounts of help with this thing. Because they are great.

There's mud all over the mudroom. )

Oh man. This is just. Everything everyone has said so far is so true and right, with the added bonus of being a nightshift worker and that strange tugging-pulling-disconnect of being on nearly-opposite schedules with someone, and the way you miss them, and fall asleep on the couch because it's the only way you can hang out with them and yet still get sleep that you so desperately need, and the fact that they're right there and yet not. You nailed it, that sleepytired low hum of--not frustration, exactly, but something very close to it. Resignation, too.

Which is to say, this, yes, i loved it. <3

Aw, I love them here with their ships-in-the-night schedules and missing each other but not wanting to come right out and say it. And the notes are great. I kind of want an entire thing now where they're working on opposite schedules and have to make do with insulting one another by post-it note. *g*

Lovely.

PS. From the title I was almost expecting a Leverage crossover. *G* But regardless, I wasn't disappointed.

Ugh, I am the worst at titling things. But now I kind of want that crossover to exist! And also insult post-its.

I'm really glad you liked. Thanks!

This is lovely and I would like to snuggle with it in a quilt and make it stew. And maybe cider.

*sigh* That was so sweet! I really liked the progression of the discover and how mature Eames was about it. I like how immature Arthur's thoughts were, like his gut reaction thoughts, but how balanced his actual actions were when it came to just letting this happen, letting it grow.

Oh, thank you! I just really liked the idea that Arthur is competent and secure professionally (most of the time), but kind of scared shitless by adult relationships.
