Recently (over the past 2+ years, and more recently last night) i have heard discussion about individuals and relationships in the past and have been surprised at male douche-baggery. I was naturally shocked that anyone would get involved with people who seem so obviously like an ass-hole. so i started asking more questions ( Read more... )

I've been asking myself the same question for a very long time. The closest I've ever come to a result was a few mediocre cowboys with cold feet and bigger insecurities than egos.

What's the saddest is that I have to agree with the twisted reasoning. Sometimes we reach a point where any guy asking us out is better than spending another night waiting to be noticed.

I'd like to repost your blog on my myspace and see what some of the peopel I know have to say about the issue. Maybe it is a bit "awkward" for a guy to be asking the question, but at least someone's stepping up. See, when girls ask the question, we're just told that we're too demanding and complain because we just want someone to love us and that we're just not looking hard enough.

So, on behalf of all the women who are sick of waiting around for some prince to find his balls and actually use them, thank you.

If I knew that answer... well, obviously I don't.

However, in the past year I have been asked out by quite a few non-douche-bag-ass-fuck-dick-fucking-idiot boys. They just happened to be the not-right-for-melissa-but-nice-for-someone-else kind of boys. So, I don't think they have all gone to Mt. Doom. Just most of them.

so how did asking a girl out and being a douche become synonymous?

is it that boys are not taught how to properly ask/take a girl out and so can only follow the poor standard set by "the others"? (and so avoid it all together)

or did all the nice boys read (and sleep with) "i kissed dating goodbye"

and i do realize that that should have been underlined and capitalized instead of the quotes, i did learn that in public school.
