Chop battles are what makes life worth living, my friend. I can do without the half-nelsons, as well. Don't need to see someone land square on the neck or head just to have a good match.
There will always be those elitists who will trash a match for misexecuted spots. Sure, the suplexes didn't really fit into the match all that well, and their execution left much to be desired. The flow and story of the match was extraordinary, and completely overshadowed the few flaws the match had.
I don't think one can say for sure what is a good match and what isn't in wrestling. It's all subjective, and what some of us consider quality, some will consider a five-finger-stinker. But those of us who truly love the business that is wrestling will always appreciate hard work and storytelling, regardless of what the mob mentality is.
Nothing beats seeing Kobashi drop Chono on the head with his half-nelson suplexes seven times when chono had his neck injury, not to mention actually watching it live when that happened.
And yes, Suzuki's hairstyle is one of the coolest hairstyles I've ever seen thus far. Hehehe.
I just discovered this journal. I saw you at CAPW a few months ago against Chad Collyer and really liked the match. Best of luck in your career. I'm rooting for you.
