Finally got to the end of the school year. Got everything finished and handed in by 9:30am, so I spent the last 90 minutes trying to stay busy. After the Staff luncheon today, we had a Faculty softball game. It was a lot of fun, aside from a couple of pulled muscles (none of which belonged to me). Most of the players were younger than I was, and I think I impressed some people that I could still flash the leather pretty well. I had to run out to pick up some Three Bean Salad this morning for the Faculty Luncheon today, and I had a real hard time not ripping random townspeople a new a&%#!+$. Another fairly boring day at school. Spent the morning clearing my desk and actually cleared it off to the point where I could actually clean the surface of it. Vanessa and Vicky, two teachers that were hired this year, Vanessa in September and Vicky in January, were astonished to realize, for the first time, that my desk is made of wood. Today my students took the dreaded New York State Mathematics A exam. This time last year, there was much controversy about the fairness of the test, or lack thereof. This year the discussion, by my fellow teachers was, centered on whether the scoring chart was too generous.
