I hate to break the news to you, Dear, but one walk down the Haight in San Francisco or Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley will be enough to convince you that the 'trend' has come and gone.

I advise you to wear your differences on the inside, where they actually count.

Well I know there's a lot of stuff like this in other parts of the country, but I JUST started seeing it around here.

You could probably do a research paper tracing the migrations of fads like that. You'd have to have a way of measuring it, such as tattoo sales volumes or something like that, but it could probably be done.
